Romans 3:24-27

Colossians 3:2-4

Welcome All

The Oakleaf Church of Christ is a body of Christians who strives to serve God and help each other with our daily Christian life. We are a place of spiritual uplifting and soul searching. A place where just an amen will do. A body of Christians that believe in Christ's definition of love for Him as found in John 14:15 "If you love me keep my commandments".

A body of people that loves the souls within our community and welcomes each visiting person with open arms and the love of Christ. So we welcome you to join our family at the Oakleaf Church of Christ.

Who We Are

We are a group of people drawn together by the love of Jesus Christ and have been transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2) also known as Christians and making up the church. The church is God's eternal purpose for man.

As Christians we wear no other name but Christian. As followers of Christ we recognize our weakness but rely on God's strength. Our humanity is subject to sin, but our divine Head, judges, chastens, and redeems us through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. He also sends us out to help establish His kingdom, the church by serving others and proclaiming the Gospel of the New Testament scriptures.

What You Can Expect

We carry out our work and worship as the scriptures teach. We partake of the Lord's Supper each first day of the week, following the pattern of the first century church.

Our music is the praise of our lips without mechanical or other forms of accompaniment. We will sing several Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs collectively as a congregation led by one song leader at a time.

Our prayers our very essential and intended for power, as scripture teaches us to boldly approach the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). This means God hears the prayers of the Christian and will respond the the fervent effectual prayer of the righteous. During worship service, we will be lead in prayer one leader of the prayer at a time by different men whom may be called upon.

Our giving is given in accordance to the example we find in scripture, which is as every man according to as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7), to be given on the first day of the every week.

The word of God is preached. We believe in Christian worship as we find in the New Testament scriptures God's word is to be preached and preached from His word and that we must be listening. We praise God in encouraging each other through study and the preaching of His word. The entirety of the worship service is planned, but not rigid.

Entrance into the the body of Christ is by baptism (Galatians 3:27) or by transfer of membership. Those who are not Christians are taught to believe in Christ wholeheartedly, to repent of their sins, confess their faith in Jesus as the Son of God, and to be baptized for the remission of their sins. When baptism takes place, that person is then sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13).

Since only believers are to be baptized, we do not practice infant baptism. And as baptism instituted by Jesus and practiced by the first century church was by immersion, as example shows in scripture, we follow that practice today. Thus baptism truly symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, as this is to the penitent believer his burial to the former sinful self and resurrection to a new life in Christ (Romans 6:1-10).

We do not exist for any selfish purposes. Only to follow Christ who came to minister and give His life a ransom for many. Christ is our only head and the Bible rightly divided in truth is our only creed of faith and practice. The Bible is our only guide to Heaven.

A place to serve God and assist each other in our daily Christian lives as we commit ourselves to the Lord.
